Neuropathy & Wound Healing
Peripheral Neuropathy describes damage to the peripheral nervous system that extends out from the central nervous system (brain and spinal cord). It can be caused by problems like traumatic injuries, infections, metabolic problems, exposure to toxins and most frequently diabetes. Because every peripheral nerve has a highly specialized function in a specific part of the body, a wide variety of symptoms can occur.
Neuropathy Symptoms
Common symptoms include numbness, tingling, a sharp, jabbing, electric-like pricking sensation (paresthesia), edema (swelling), sensitivity to touch, painful cramps, fasciculations (uncontrolled muscle twitching visible under the skin), and muscle weakness. More extreme symptoms include bone degeneration, changes in the skin (dark purple or black) hair or nails, loss of balance, burning pain (especially at night), muscle wasting, paralysis and organ (i.e. bladder and bowel) or gland dysfunction that may lead to an inability to digest food easily, maintain safe levels of blood pressure, sweat normally or experience normal sexual function. In severe cases, breathing may become difficult or organ failure may occur.
Circulatory Neuropathy (peripheral nerve damage due to decreased circulation) is a contributing cause of many of the above symptoms. When an initial cause of peripheral neuropathy occurs, frequently edema (swelling) and inflammation follow and circulation common to:
•Wounds that do not heal.
•Amputation of fingers, toes and even limbs.
•Incontinence.
•Loss of motor function.
•Pain that is difficult to manage.
When to see a doctor
If you notice any unusual tingling, weakness or pain in your hands or feet, you should consult a doctor. Additionally, these symptoms may interfere with sleep or make you feel depressed.Early diagnosis and treatment offers the best chance for controlling your symptoms and preventing further damage to your peripheral nerves.
The Renua Muscle Stimulator provides an effective treatment for many of the problems associated with peripheral neuropathies, including the healing of diabetic ulcers and restoration of nerve function.
Pain Management
Pain comes in myriad forms. And chronic pain for many people is a major life challenge. Debilitating, long-lasting pain diminishes a quality of life. For many people pain can even disturb sleep and be a major cause of depression.
Unfortunately resolving chronic pain is often not easy. Accurately diagnosing the underlying cause can be a challenge in itself. And often the remedies have serious side effects of their own. Renua Medical’s RMS provides an effective treatment for many pains associated conditions, helping thousands of patients who suffer from chronic pain.
The RMS has demonstrated effectiveness with:
•Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
•Hip Pain•Chronic Knee and Joint Pain
•Back Pain•Chronic Neck and Shoulder Pain
•Whiplash•Chronic Muscle Pain
•Trigeminal Neuralgia
•Headaches•Sciatica Pain
•Arachnoiditis: Spinal Pain
•Joint Pain
•Complex Regional Pain Syndrome
•Diabetes-Related Nerve Pain (Neuropathy)
•Depression, Anxiety, and Pain
Renua Muscle Stimulator offers doctors a non-invasive alternative that provides dramatic pain relief from many symptoms without resorting to pharmaceuticals, surgery or other interventional modalities.
The Renua Muscle Stimulator therapy has demonstrated in clinical studies a high degree of effectiveness in relieving even the most challenging and debilitating chronic pain.
Urinary Incontinence
The loss of bladder control is a common and often embarrassing problem. Some estimates put the number of 33% of all older adults have some form of incontinence problem. For many people urinary incontinence affects day-to-day activities and has a severe impact on quality of life. Urinary incontinence is the inability to control the release of urine from your bladder. For some people the problem is occasional minor leaks or dribbles of urine. Other people may wet their clothes frequently and need adult diapers. Stress incontinence is caused by sudden pressures, such as created by coughing or sneezing. Urge incontinence is a sudden, intense urge to urinate, followed by an involuntary loss of urine. Overflow incontinence is a frequent or consistent constantly dribble urine.
Renua Muscle Stimulator has demonstrated a unique ability to help adults treat urinary incontinence through its unique impact on the muscles that control urinary function.
